ASUS, a global pioneer in the tech industry, has officially announced the series production of its groundbreaking Geforce RTX 4070 wireless edition. The announcement was made at BiliBiliWorld 2023, following the initial presentation of the prototype at Computex 2023.
The Geforce RTX 4070 wireless edition, first unveiled at Computex 2023 in Taipei, stirred considerable excitement among tech enthusiasts. The graphics card’s unique design, devoid of traditional PCIe power connectors or 12VHPWR connectors, marked a significant departure from conventional graphics card designs.
The wireless Geforce RTX 4070 employs a “Hidden Connector,” a concealed connection that enables the 2.3 slots high wireless custom design. This connector pairs with a specially designed motherboard, creating a seamless integration between the graphics card and the motherboard.
The ASUS GeForce RTX 4070 wireless edition requires a modified motherboard, specifically the ASUS Z790 TUF Gaming. This motherboard is equipped with the corresponding connection for the graphics card, enabling energy transfer. The traditional PCIe connectors with 8-pin PCIe connectors or 12VHPWR connectors are cleverly hidden on the back of the motherboard.
ASUS plans to offer these specially prepared motherboards in retail, as the wireless design concept necessitates their use. The company also intends to introduce “wireless” cases as part of this innovative concept.
According to EXIA Studio, ASUS aims to market the entire concept, including the wireless cases, globally by the end of the year. This move signifies ASUS’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of technology and redefining the standards of gaming hardware.
